My name is Laura and I started this blog after being diagnosed with Sudden Sensorineural Hearing Loss in February 2014.
I am 29 years old and I love to travel where possible and to bake the odd cake or two! After receiving my SSHL diagnosis, I noticed the lack of blogs/reading material on hearing loss and the effect it can have on your life. I hope through this website you will be able to not only learn more about my hearing-loss journey but also get some advice and support along the way. I also hope to raise awareness of SSHL, Cochlear Implants and the charities that can help, as well as providing a useful resource for those going through, or simply learning about, this process.
Since creating this blog in 2014 I now have a Cochlear Implant and will feature regular updates regarding surgery, recovery and on-hand advice to those who need somebody to talk to.
