Here are a few links and references I have mentioned in my blog; many of which I have used myself and can personally recommend:

Action on Hearing Loss – The charity provides day to day care for those who are hard of hearing and have additional needs, supplying communication services and training, offering advice, campaigning for change to public policy surrounding hearing loss and supporting research into an eventual cure for hearing loss and tinnitus.

Access to Work – Access to Work is a government run scheme designed to help those with disabilities in the workplace. It is a grant that can pay for practical support if you have a disability or mental health condition that affects you in the working environment.

Adult Social Services – Adult Social Services well help in installing equipment to use in your home in replacement of your doorbell, smoke detector, entry phone, telephone etc.

British Cochlear Implant Group – This is not a charity or organisation but rather an informative website and one that deserves a mention. The British Cochlear Implant Group offers advice, support and information on Cochlear Implants for current and prospective users alike.

Hearing Dogs – Hearing Dogs for Deaf People is a national Charity and a training centre for dogs to alert deaf people to important sounds that they may not be able to hear, whether at home, work or out and about.

Hearing Link – Help and support for yourself and your family. They also run an outstanding Intensive Hearing Rehabilitation course.

Restored Hearing – Restored Hearing are committed to helping and preventing tinnitus. They have pioneered a sound therapy for tinnitus called Sound Relief which is proven to reduce the severity of tinnitus. I guest blog for Restored Hearing every second Friday of the month.

Med-El – Cochlear implant manufactures Med-El offer a whole host of information from processors, accessories for your CI as well as a user forum for those with or awaiting a CI where you can ask all sorts of questions.

Hear2Work – Focuses on hearing loss in the work environment and how to cope. Also points out various other helpful and personal blogs on hearing loss (including this fabulous blog of course!)
